Beautiful Wisteria Plant in Japan Is 144 Years Old
What you are seeing in these pictures is not a beautiful pink sunset in the sky but in fact Japan’s largest wisteria plant.
The plant is located in Japan’s Ashikaga Flower Park, and although it might not be the biggest in the world, it still covers an insane 1,990 square meters which is roughly half an acre and can be dated back to around 1870, making this tree 144 years old.
The largest wisteria tree is 4,000 square meters and is located in Sierra Madre, California.
Although wisteria may look like a tree it is actually a vine. The vines can become incredibly heavy which is why steel supports are used to hold the plant upright, enabling visitors to walk beneath these beautiful hanging blossoms.
